He was born circa 1718. His father was Jose Nicolas Chapa, and his mother was Maria Inez Baez de Benavides.

Marriage

He married Margarita de la Peña, daughter of Jose Jacinto de la Peña and Ana Maria Guajardo. Her mother owned Porción 48, Mier.

Maria Rosalia Chapa, born 1750. She married Jose Antonio Ramos, son of Jose Antonio Ramos and Josefa Canales on 11 Jun 1776 in Mier.

Jose Joaquin Chapa, born 1754. He married Maria Tomasa Baez de Benavides, daughter of Cristobal Javier Baez de Benavides and Maria Rita Cuellar on 13 Feb 1776 in Revilla. He died on 21 Sep 1802. He was 48 years old.

Jose Santiago Chapa, born 1757. He married Juana Hinojosa, daughter of Gervacio Hinojosa and Teresa Treviño on 28 Jan 1777 in Mier.

Maria Luisa Chapa, born 1761. She married Jose Antonio Guerra Cañamar, son of Francisco Guerra and Ana Josefa de la Garza on 13 Jan 1776 in Mier.
