He was born circa 1695. His father was Diego Hinojosa Cantu, and his mother was Maria Josefa de la Garza y Diaz Molina. In 1750, he lived in Camargo. The census recorded that he was the head of a household, and español. His household had 4 people, and they did not receive government aid to move to the colony. In 1757, he lived in Mier in household number 2. The church census recorded that he was married to Doña Maria Inez Chapa. He was given the tile "Don". His household included 27 people, including 2 children, and 9 servants with 14 family members. He had all arms, 50 tame horses with a herd of 200 horses, 6 mules, 5 donkeys, 5 yokes of oxen, 100 cattle, and 600 small livestock. His household included two orphans.
He married Maria Inez Chapa, daughter of Jose Nicolas Chapa and Maria Inez Baez de Benavides.
Maria Candelaria (Candida?) Hinojosa. In 1748, she requested a dispensation to marry Juan de Dios Garcia, son of Joaquin Garcia and Isabel Guajardo. They were married in 1748 in Cerralvo. He owned land in Porción 59, Mier. She died before 1757. Her husband died on 17 Oct 1795. He was 73 years old.
Maria Matiana Hinojosa, born 1721. She married Cristobal Ramirez Sanchez, son of Antonio Ramirez Marquina and Juana Sanchez Navarro de las Casas in 1741. He owned land in Porción 17, Revilla, Zapata County. She died on 10 Sep 1805. She was 84 years old. Her husband died on 10 Aug 1778. He was 66 years old.
Marcelino Hinojosa, born 1721. He married Rosa Maria Saldua. He married Lucia Ramirez. He owned land in Porción 30, Mier.
Manuel [Jr.] Hinojosa, born 1731. He married Juana Sanchez. He owned land in Porción 5, Mier. His wife died on 18 Jan 1811. She was 67 years old.
Rosalia Hinojosa, born 1735. In 1752, she requested a dispensation to marry Ramon Guerra, son of Cristobal Guerra Cañamar and Nicolasa Baez de Treviño. He owned land in Porción 6, Mier.
In 1767, as a primitivo poblador, he was granted Mier 4 by the King of Spain. Manuel Hinojosa was one of the early ranchers at Paso de Cantaro, when it was part of the Almondos estate, in the 1730s-40s. He was born around 1695 and probably died soon after the distribution of porciones. In 1767 there was an improved estancia at the site.
