Juan Bautista Villarreal

Birth

He was born circa 1738. His father was Miguel Domingo Villarreal, and his mother was Josefa Guajardo.

 

 

 

 

 

Residence and Household - 1750

In 1750, he lived in Camargo. The census recorded that he was the son of a settler, and 12 years old. His household had 4 people, and they received government aid to move to the colony:

Josefa Guajardo, widow, mestiza

Juan Bautista Villarreal, son, 12 years old

Maria Villarreal, daughter, 9 years old

Francisco Antonio Villarreal, son, 7 years old

 

 

 

 

 

 

Land Ownership

In 1767, as an antiguo agregado, he was granted Camargo 40 by the King of Spain.

In 1796, he purchased Camargo 75 from Agustin de la Garza.

Land Sales

In 1803, he sold Camargo 40 to Jose Julian de Sosa, Pedro de Sosa, Clemente Vargas for 40 pesos. Juan Bautista Villarreal sold his porcion to two sons and two sons-in-law of the neighboring grantee, Domingo Cristobal de Sosa. Camargo Protocols, p.320
