He was born circa 1743. His father was Domingo Cristobal de Sosa, and his mother was Maria de la Ascencion. His father owned land in Porción 41, Camargo. In 1750, he lived in Camargo. The census recorded that he was the son of a settler, and 7 years old. His household had 7 people, and they did not receive government aid to move to the colony.
He married Maria de la Asencion Vargas.
In 1803, he purchased Camargo 40 from Juan Bautista Villarreal for 40 pesos. Juan Bautista Villarreal sold his porcion to two sons and two sons-in-law of the neighboring grantee, Domingo Cristobal de Sosa. Camargo Protocols, p.320
