In 1808, Jose Simon Ramirez Peña was granted Santa Rosalia by the King of Spain.
In 1852, Jose Rafael Ramirez applied for confirmation Santa Rosalia from the State of Texas. He had occupied the land since death of Simon Ramirez, his father-in law. He applied for this tract as the same time as San Pedro del Charco Redondo.
