In 1808, Jose Simon Ramirez Peña was granted San Pedro del Charco Redondo by the King of Spain.
In 1852, as the son-in-law of the original grantee, Jose Rafael Ramirez applied for confirmation San Pedro del Charco Redondo from the State of Texas. He had occupied the land since death of Simon Ramirez, his father-in law.
