His father was Pedro Ygnacio Garcia, and his mother was Maria Gertrudis Ramirez. His father owned land in Porción 27, Camargo, Porción 30, Camargo. He was a rancher in the Palo Blanco grant, inherited through his wife. Also owned the combined Diezmero grants on the Nueces River which had been purchased by his father. In 1872 he had 908 horses and 1,236 cattle.
He married Santos Elizondo.
He married Maria Antonia Hinojosa, daughter of Jose Marcelo Hinojosa and Maria Rita Garcia. It was his second marriage, and her second marriage. She owned land in Palo Blanco grant, Duval County. Her father owned land in El Charco de Palo Blanco grant, San Rafael de los Encinos grant, Duval County, Palo Blanco grant, Duval County.
