He was born 24 Apr 1754, and was baptized 14 May 1754 in Monterrey. His father was Bernabe Gutierrez de Lara, and his mother was Antonia de la Garza Falcon. His father owned Revilla 14 grant, Zapata County. At the baptism, the priest recorded his residence as Pesqueria Chica. His padrino was Dn Joachin de Utien, and his madrina was Da Antonia Guerra.
