His father was Geronimo Cantu, and his mother was Beatriz de Villarreal.

Marriage

In 1708, he requested a dispensation to marry Maria Josefa Manuela de la Garza. Dispensation source: Guerra, et. al., Index to the Marriage Investigations of the Diocese of Guadalajara, p.204.

He had a relationship with Beatriz de Villarreal, daughter of Francisco de Villarreal and Ursula de Saldivar [Urrutia].

Children
