In 1767, as an antiguo agregado, he was granted Camargo 24 by the King of Spain. Possession was not given to Cantu because he had moved to Valle de las Motas, but he was given the option to reclaim it. Possession was given to his son-in-law Tomas Gutierrez on his behalf.
