He was born circa 1799. His father was Jose Luis Ramirez Hinojosa, and his mother was Basilia Martinez. His father owned land in Porción 5, Revilla, Zapata County, Texas. He was 83 years old. was captured near the homestead at Ramireño by Comanches in 1819; he was returned ca.1822 after ransom was paid in Louisiana.

He was granted La Laguna de los Venados by the State of Tamaulipas.
In 1852, as the son of the original grantee, he applied for confirmation Revilla 5 from the State of Texas. Witnesses Antonio Garza, Jose Maria Gutierrez prove occupation and cultivation since first granted.
