Original Grantee: Jose Laurencio de la Garza Hidalgo
The tract was bounded on the east by the ranch named "Peñitas" which belonged to Jacinto de la Garza, on the west by lands of the deceased Anna Guerra and today of Camargo church, on the south with the Mission lands, and on the north by the Rio Grande which it divides it from the lands of Pedro Lugo.
In 1767, Jose Laurencio de la Garza Hidalgo was granted Camargo 61 by the King of Spain. There was a rancho at the site.
In 1786, Julian Casas purchased Camargo 61 from Jose Laurencio de la Garza Hidalgo.
