Jose Matias Garcia, born 1754. He married Francisca Javiera Saenz, daughter of Juan Diego Saenz and Josefa Sanchez on 7 May 1777 in Mier.
In 1757, he lived in Mier in household number 29. The church census recorded that he was married to Maria Gertrudis Benavides. His household included 3 people, including one child. He had 6 tame horses with a herd of 16 horses, and 100 small livestock. He had one son.
In 1768, as an antiguo poblador, he was granted Mier 65 by the King of Spain.
The identity of Antonio Garcia is uncertain, but he was probably related to the Joaquin Garcia family since they came to own this and the other tracts in the area. He is on the 1757 Mier census but not in the padrones. There is no record of this family in Mier after 1777.
