Gaspar Garcia was a poblador of Camargo but by 1753 was among the settlers who broke away to form the villa of Mier at their own expense. In 1757 his household had five children, all arms, ten horses and a donkey. Gaspar Garcia's first wife, Maria Gertrudis Barrera, may have been the sister of Santiago Barrera (of nearby porcion 5). Parents of both are unknown, though it is likely that 2 Barrera siblings married 2 Garcia siblings.
