His father was Melchor de Treviño, and his mother was Laureana Diaz.

In 1696, he requested a dispensation to marry Antonia de la Garza. Dispensation source: Guerra, et. al., Index to the Marriage Investigations of the Diocese of Guadalajara, p.163.
