Birth

He was born circa 1784. His father was Miguel Antonio Losoya, and his mother was Maria del Pilar Hidalgo.

Marriage

He married Guadalupe Diaz on 26 Jul 1851 in Bexar. He was 67 years old. It was his second marriage. Their padrino was Gabriel Villagrande, and their madrina was Maria Escolastica Diaz. Witnesses were Jesus Perez and Jose Justo Rodriguez. Widower of Maria Gregoria Dominguez (Chabot). Witness ID uncertain.

Children

Manuel Losoya. He was an adopted child. He married Josefa Laudina, daughter of Clemente Laudina and Agustina Hernandez on 11 Oct 1868 in Medina. Their padrino was Domingo Losoya, and their madrina was Guadalupe Diaz.

Dionicia Losoya. She was an adopted child. She married Juan Villagrande.

Notes

[Petitioned for a lot in Valero neighborhood.] From GLO archive (1858): Witnesses state that he took part in the battle of the Medina in 1813. As an insurgent, he escaped to Louisiana and participated in the seige of New Orleans under General Jackson on Jan 8 , 1815. Returned to Texas after Mexican independence from Spain in 1821 or 22. All his property had been confiscated. In 1828 applied for the sitio of land on the Medina from the Mexican government finalized 20 Mar 1835. It was part of the San Patricio colony. Enlisted in Juan Seguin's company of Texas mounted volunteeers at Salado Creek from 14 Oct 1835 - 25 Oct 1836. He was one of the oldest members of the company (would have been around 51 years old in 1835) Was with this company was at the taking of Bexar in 1835. Participated in taking the plaza and storming the Garza house. He was in several Indian fights. Apppied for land grant as "bounty donation" and pay for military services.
