He was born circa 1731. His father was Jose Jacinto de la Peña, and his mother was Ana Maria Guajardo. His mother owned Porción 48, Mier. In 1750, he lived in Camargo. The census recorded that he was the son of a settler, and 29 years old. His household had 6 people, and they did not receive government aid to move to the colony.
He married Ana Francisca Baez de Benavides in Revilla.
