He married Javiera Garcia.
On 3 Apr 1773, he requested a dispensation to marry Maria Ana Gertrudis Chapa in Cerralvo. They were married on 32 Mar 1772 in Mier. He was 32 years old, a resident of Cerralvo, and the bride was 32 years old. It was his second marriage. The dispensation says that she was adopted and that her birth mother was Thadea Peña, therefore she was related to Julian Gutierrez by 3rd degree consanguinity. The dispensation was made after they were married, because she hadn't mentioned her birth parents. However there was some doubt whether Julian was really the son of his mother's husband.Dispensation source: link.
