He was born circa 1705. His father was Juan Guerra Cañamar, and his mother was Elena Cavazos. In 1750, he lived in Revilla in household number 15. His household included 8 people. He died before 1753. He was 48 years old. In 1750, he petitioned Escandón to found a town on land he had inherited from his father. The request was granted and he became the captain of the town of Revilla until his death. He recruited 40 families to form the initial settlement.
He married Micaela Geronima de la Garza, daughter of Teodoro de la Garza and Maria Gonzalez de Quintanilla.
