He was born circa 1734. His father was Antonio de la Garza, and his mother was Margarita de la Serna. In 1750, he lived in Camargo. The census recorded that he was the son of a settler, and 16 years old. His household had 12 people, and they received government aid to move to the colony.
He married Magdalena Villarreal, daughter of Miguel Domingo Villarreal and Josefa Guajardo. She owned Porción 75, Camargo.
