Juan Jose de la Garza

Birth

He was born circa 1724. His father was Juan Bautista de la Garza, and his mother was Rosa Maria Sanchez Zamora (Herrera). His mother owned Camargo 27 grant.

Marriage

He married Maria Gerarda.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Residence and Household - 1750

In 1750, he lived in Camargo. The census recorded that he was a bachelor, a soldier, español, and 26 years old. , and they did not receive government aid to move to the colony.

Land Ownership

In 1767, as a primitivo poblador, and a surveyor for the Crown during the Visita General of 1767, he was granted Camargo 88 by the King of Spain. Porciones 88 & 89 were switched by agreement.

Land Sales

In 1790, he sold Camargo 88 to Jose Antonio de los Santos Garza. See Camargo protocolos p.324.
