In 1809 Francisco Cordente was granted Santa Cruz de la Concepcion by the King of Spain.

In 1831 Juan Manuel Ramirez purchased Santa Cruz de la Concepcion from Maria Leonarda Liscano. Ramirez purchased the tract from the widow of the original grantee.
