In 1768, as an antiguo poblador, Jose Antonio Ramirez was granted Mier 67 by the King of Spain. Ramirez had been a settler for 6 years. He was granted an extra 300 varas frontage between 66 & 67.

In 1852 Estevan de la Garza applied for confirmation of Mier 67 from the State of Texas. Esteban Garza was married to Antonia Vela, sister of Petra Vela de Vidal who married Mifflin Kenedy. Antonia and Petra were granddaughters of the original grantee, Antonio Ramirez. The confirmation of title was witnessed by Gervacio Ramirez and Ysidro Vela.
