In 1852, he applied for confirmation Mier 67 from the State of Texas. Esteban Garza was married to Antonia Vela, sister of Petra Vela de Vidal who married Mifflin Kenedy. Antonia and Petra were granddaughters of the original grantee, Antonio Ramirez. The confirmation of title was witnessed by Gervacio Ramirez and Ysidro Vela.
