Original Grantee: Jose Maria Garcia
Diego Garcia settled at La Noria de Santo Domingo.
In 1834, Jose Maria Garcia was granted La Noria de Santo Domingo by the State of Tamaulipas.
Simon Gomez died on 20 May 1814 in "Palo Blanco" - probably La Noria de Santo Domingo. Cause of death: killed by indians. He was not buried until Jan 5 the following year. "He was a poor man." His nephew, Benito Garcia, was also killed by Indians and was buried at the same time. La Noria de Santo Domingo was in the Palo Blanco Creek area. It was granted to his wife's first husband, Diego Garcia, and probably inherited by her. See Starling, "Ghosts of Mier", 552. Source: link.
