This was the last ranch in the Mier jurisdiction, located on the porción granted to Juan Antonio Leal. Arroyo Salinillas formed the boundary with the Revilla jurisdicion. It may have been a regular stopping place on the route between the villas. Jean Louis Berlandier stopped at Salinillas overnight en route betweeen Revilla and Mier in 183- and 183-. However, the ranch he stayed at was on the S side of the river. This ranch is not listed in 1782, but in 1785 the daughter of the original grantee, Maria Josefa Leal, and her husband Antonio Ramirez Hinojosa lived here with their family. They are listed here until 1788, but by 1791 had moved to Rancho Miguel Perez on the San Juan River.
