He was born circa 1827. His father was Jose Antonio Ramirez, and his mother was Maria Rosalia Vela. He owned by purchase the "Grulla" grant in Zapata Co., & many surveys there, and the "Comitas" and "Retachez" grants in Starr Co., part of "San Antonio Viejo", Porcion 68 - Mier, & e[xtant], & many surveys.
