He was born in Guajuco. His father was Juan de Quintanilla, and his mother was Catarina de Salazar.
Marriage
On 24 Mar 1746, he requested a dispensation to marry Maria Catarina Garcia de Soberon in Sabinas. the bride was 26 years old. Marriage may not have taken place. He married Maria Antonia Flores. It was his second marriage.
