Jose Fernando Vidaurri

He was born circa 1742. His father was Juan Antonio Vidaurri, and his mother was Manuela Vasquez Borrego. He signed a will on 20 November 1806. Jose Fernando Vidaurri inherited the lower portion of the Borregos grant, known as the San Ygnacio subdivision and evenually his successors also inherited the central portion of the Borregos grant, known as the Corralitos subdivision.Jose Fernando had been raised by his grandfather, Jose Vasquez Borrego, and apparently believed he was his son. Not until he was preparing to get married did he find out that Jose Vasquez Borrego was really his grandfather. In appreciation for everything he had done for him, Jose Vasquez Borrego gave his ranch, Corralitos, to his grandson, Jose Fernando, in 1766. Jose Fernando moved to Corralitos in September 1766. Eventually, Jose Fernando moved his family to Laredo, where he served two terms as the village's third alcalde mayor in 1777 and 1778. (Raul Longoria)

He married Maria Alejandra Sanchez, daughter of Tomas Tadeo Sanchez and Catarina de Uribe on 17 Jun 1765 in Revilla. He was 23 years old, and the bride was 23 years old. It was her second marriage.

Children

Jose Alejandro Vidaurri, born 1770. He married Maria Leonor Canales, daughter of Juan Antonio Canales and Maria de los Santos Garcia on 10 Aug 1795.
