Birth

He was born circa 1756. His father was Juan Ignacio Vera, and his mother was Hermenegilda de la Cerda.

Marriage

He married Maria Rita Gonzalez, daughter of Jose Alonzo Gonzalez and Maria Guadalupe Garcia on 5 Aug 1782 in Mier. He was 26 years old, and the bride was 13 years old.

He married Maria Guadalupe Resendez, daughter of Bartolome Resendez and Maria Ageda Treviño on 20 Aug 1788 in Mier. He was 32 years old. It was his second marriage.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Residence and Household - 1782

In 1782, he lived in Rancho Poblado in household number 118. The church census recorded that he was single, español, and 26 years old. His household included 6 people:

Francisco Vera, married, español, age 31.

Maria Rosalia de la Garza, married, española, age 21.

Jose Maria Vera, single, español, age 26.

Maria Antonia Vera, an unmarried girl, española, age 22.

Jose Antonio Vera, a youth, español, age 16.

Jose Maria Nieves Vera, a youth, español, age 18.

 

 

Land Ownership

In 1767, he was granted Mier 36 by the King of Spain.

 

 

Notes

36 orig. granted to Fileto Gonzales. GLO says adjudicated to Jose Maria Vera in 1780. But in 1785 his family lives on porcion #40(?) which padron says belonged to Juan Antonio Canales.
