He was born circa 1710. His father was Joseph de Urrutia, and his mother was Maria Rosa Flores de Valdez.
Marriage
He married Ana Maria Farias, daughter of Nicolas de Farias and Juana de Dios Flores de Abrego on 6 Jul 1735 in Saltillo. He was 25 years old.
He married Josefa Flores de Valdez. It was his second marriage.

In 1740 he succeeded his father as captain of San Antonio de Bexar presidio
