He was born circa 1702. As witness in marriage dispensation for Bartolome Torralba says he left from Mexico for Coahuila in 1720 to join the expedition of the Marques de Aguayo in the company of Joseph Codallos y Rabal (vicar-general of the Bishop of Guadalajara). His marriage record says a dispensation was obtained "por ultramarino" indicating that he was born in Spain. The dispensation was given during a visita general of Sr Doct Salvador Ximenes Espinoza de los Monteros and is not found in the records of Guadalajara. Alguacil mayor actual de Monclova, 1724.
He married Rosa de Yruegas, daughter of Blas de Yruegas and Josefa Garcia Flores on 7 May 1722 in Monclova. He was 20 years old, and the bride was 18 years old. Their padrino was Joaquin de Yruegas, and their madrina was Juana Garcia. Witnesses were Capt. Pedro Valdez and Juan de Salazar.
