He was born circa 1738. His father was Nicolas Sanchez de la Barquera, and his mother was Isabel Palacios. In 1750, he lived in Camargo. The census recorded that he was the son of a settler, and 12 years old. His household had 5 people, and they received government aid to move to the colony.
