Francisco Javier Rodriguez

Possibly the Xavier Rodriguez, native of Coahuila, married to Maria [Rita] Vela, native of Camargo. (Daughter of Baltazar Vela?) He was born around 1730, living in San Antonio in 1790, 1792, 1793. Daughters Luisa (b.1777), Concepcion, Rosalia. Concepcion Vela of Camargo living next door in 1793. Grandson Francisco Chirino sold the porcion. Diego Chirino, native of La Bahia, married to Luisa Rodriguez native of Camargo (b.1780), living in La Bahia 1810, 1811. Son Francisco age 21. (Residents of Texas II PDF p.62)

Marriage

He married Maria Rita Vela, daughter of Nicolas Vela and Maria de Lerma. Her father owned land in Porción 82, Camargo.

Land Ownership

In 1767, as a primitivo poblador, he was granted Camargo 86 by the King of Spain. He was likely a soldier and later moved to Bexar.
