He was born circa 1717. His father was Diego Hinojosa Cantu, and his mother was Maria Josefa de la Garza y Diaz Molina. In 1750, he lived in Camargo. The census recorded that he was the head of a household, and español. His household had 4 people, and they received government aid to move to the colony. He was Chief justice of Reynosa in 1776. Received Llano Grande land grant, porcion 69 & 70, in 1778.
He married Antonia Benavides.
