Agostadero del Sordo

In 1804 Luis Vela settled at Agostadero del Sordo. ID of Luis Vela uncertain. Luis Vela son of Pedro Vela also owned by inheritance and purchase Revilla porcion 34. He was from Guerrero. The title on file in the GLO says that Luis Vela and his brothers first occupied the land in 1804. They built small houses and wells and had a large amount of stock.

In 1813 Luis Vela temporarily abandoned Agostadero del Sordo. "The incursions of hostile Indians compelled them to leave". They reoccupied the land and claimed it in 1835.

In 1848 Luis Vela was granted Agostadero del Sordo by the State of Tamaulipas.

In 1854 Luis Vela applied for confirmation of Agostadero del Sordo from the State of Texas. Luis Vela must have been around 75 years old at this time.
