In 1809 Jose Matias Ramirez settled at Palo Blanco. The land was originally surveyed for Ramirez in 1809. He occupied it until his death but title was awarded to his heirs.

In 1831, as the son-in-law of the original claimant, Jose Ysidoro Guerra Cañamar was granted Palo Blanco. He applied for the land on behalf of the heirs of Matias Ramirez.
